Name & Website Released "SAW: The Ride"

Thorpe Park have announced via a Youtube video on their channel that the 2009 coaster codenamed ‘Dylan’ will be the world's first ever horror movie-themed rollercoaster. The ride is to be set to the theme of the ‘Saw’ horror movies and the park is boasting that the ride will be the scariest ride in the world. The ride will have its own dedicated website similar to the one which was run for Stealth’s construction.

The website, designed by greenroom-digital.com, will contain a countdown timer which will confirm some peoples thoughts that the ride looks set to open on Friday 13th March 2009. The videos which have been released every 13th of the month for the past 4 months, look set to continue and will be available also on the dedicated website for the ride as well as the Youtube channel. There’s a ‘Blueprint for Torture’ section where there are some promotional images including a poster, edited plans of the ride with a few stats, and also a collection of fitting images such as a sawmill, torturing, blood and screaming people.
..
Let the games begin!!

Ride Statement Video

On the 13th of August, a shocking development was made on the development site of Thorpes new roller coaster, involving a metallic box, and the disappearance of blue prints for the ride. The source and the contents of the box is currently unknown, but an internal investigation was immediately implemented. We cannot disclose details of the device activated when the box was opened, however a number of items were found inside, a key, a photo of an unknown individual, and this note: You have until the 13th of October to prepare yourself until I pull back the curtain and reveal the nightmare. Your time is running out. Click Here To See The Video. or head over to The Official Thorpe Park YouTube.

2nd vertical drop ?

Looking at the pictures today it looks like a vertical drop track lying on the station base.
The plan shows that the track drops down at the same angle as the trench. The ride will leave the loading area, then turn right and suddenly drops (a more than vertical drop), approx 10 meters I guess, down into the trench in the ground. I believe this is their plan. (now confirmed)

08 September 2008

Construction update (Track day)

Monday, 8th September 2008 - Ride parts were delivered to the site and literally lifted out the trucks! The aerial views taken from Colossus clearly show the large station foundation in more detail and the various other footers around the site. Take note of the large foundation currently being created above the red metal container - this will be for the lift and drop structure. Similar to Mystery Mine, it looks like there will be a sharp drop from the station - the track piece is visible. P.S Spot the second smaller vertical drop. Thorpe Park released a new video, in what appears to be the first of many to come.

August 13th 2008 - Thorpe Park has posted a video for their new Ride on YouTube this week that highlights the discovery of a mystery box in the ground labeled simply “13”. It’s just a hunch, but it almost seems like they’re going to try and promote this ride like Dollywood did with Mystery Mine. Lets hope they can live up to the hype. The video starts with a wide shot of the park skyline, before sharply flicking to what appears to be a man covered in blood stains. The video then proceeds to construction site workers going about there day, until one of them discovers a red box buried in the ground, with 13 scratched into the lid. The construction worker opens the box, only to yelp and jump back, which the screen then cuts out. The date 13.09.08 appears, whilst in the background screams can be heard "Jim!", etc. To see the video Click Here To See The Video.
